This will be all about shooting. We’ll be covering how to take complete manual control of your camera. You’ll learn about F-stops, shutter speeds, ISO and the exposure triangle. You’ll be able to completely control all the settings on your camera and get the exact brightness, focus and exposure that you intend.

NATURAL LIGHT PORTRAITS
This session will be all about learning where to find the light and pose your subjects so that your photos will transform from amateur snapshots to pro-quality portraits. I’ll discuss and demonstrate a step-by-step process to follow the 3 flawless formulas for producing stunning natural light portraits.

Then we’ll all go on location with a model(s) and practice each of the formulas through your camera. I’ll personally walk you through the process to get professional portfolio-quality images that you will be able to recreate every time hereafter.
DAY TWO : EDIT
From 0 to 60 in editing and organizing in Lightroom.
 April 7th - Morning Session
LEARN LIGHTROOM EDITING AND ORGANIZATION
The first part of the day we’ll be diving into Adobe Lightroom and learning my step-by-step process for how to edit & organize thousands of photos at a time like a pro.

You’ll learn my special workflow to cut your editing time in half, organize thousands of photos in Lightroom catalogs, and safely backup your photos.
 April 7th - Afternoon Session
IMPORT & EDIT YOUR OWN
PHOTOS FROM DAY 1
In this advanced editing session I’ll show you my secrets to getting that professional-quality look.

You’ll take your images to the next level by learning how to edit 100 or more photos in one click, master each editing slider and know instinctively which ones to use for each unique photo.

The lightbulbs are going to go off and you’ll be editing your photos like pro in no time. Your photos will transform before your eyes!
DAY THREE : PROFESSIONAL STROBE LIGHTING
A more advanced class where David will teach you exactly how he uses off-camera strobes to create the dramatic portraits that he has had featured on album covers, advertising campaigns and magazines.
 April 8th - Morning Session
STUDIO STROBE LIGHTING 101
This session we will be taking a deep dive into using strobes and off-camera lighting to produce consistently stunning portraits. We'll kick off with the theory and then we’ll progress to the step-by-step process of how to use strobes, what types to use, how and when to use modifiers like soft boxes, beauty dishes, etc. I’ll be doing practical demonstrations and teaching attendees the exact process of using off-camera strobes in studio with a model.

Each attendee will receive the opportunity to shoot in several different lighting situations. Students will learn to set up lights, adjust the settings on the lights and the cameras and even learn to pose and direct the models. Each attendee will get the chance to use our provided studio lights & equipment to practice shooting studio portraits while David Molnar is coaching and answering every question.
 April 8th - Afternoon Session
OFF-CAMERA STROBE LIGHTING
During the second part of the day, we’ll be going on-location to use off-camera strobe lighting to create the dramatic rockstar style lighting David uses on album covers and advertising campaigns.

David will be teaching his step-by-step process to create these rockstar style lighting effects in any setting. This session will be very practical, hands-on and everyone will be shooting each setup. We will have models present. Be prepared to get STUNNING shots for your portfolio. :)

FAQS
Where should I stay?
There are many hotel and airbnb options nearby the studio.

Hotels
Drury Plaza Hotel - 3.1 miles away (Suggested)
Hyatt Place - 4.7 miles away
Aloft - 3.6 miles away
Marriott Cool Springs - 4.5 miles away
Country Inn & Suites - 3.6 miles away

Airbnb - Check out this link: Franklin TN airbnb - anything in or near downtown Franklin would work for you.
What airport should I fly into?
Nashville International Airport (BNA) is where you'll be flying into for our workshops. Being an international airport, you should be able to find many flight options for the weekend.
How do I get from the airport to the venue?
Our studio is about 20 miles (25 min drive) south of the airport in the town of Franklin. If you're renting a car, it's really easy to get to and we have plenty of parking available. If you're planning to Uber/Lyft, then once you're at the studio, everything is within a couple miles.
Is there a dress code?
Dress comfortably! These workshops are a mix of classroom style and actively moving around while you work with your camera & lights. We encourage you to wear whatever will make you comfortable for 6-8 hours full immersion training.
What gear should I bring?
Bring your camera bag with your camera, lenses and your computer. These workshops are hands-on and it would be wise to have your own gear available so that you can master the skills you'll be learning with your own equipment. If you're attending Day 2 (Editing with Lightroom and Photoshop), you will need to have your computer there to follow along using those two software programs.
What will the weather be like in April?
Highs in the 60's and 70's is pretty average for April. We'll be moving around and staying active, so plan on wearing layers in case you get too warm.
Venue & Location
Westlight Studios in Franklin, TN
Our workshops will take place at the studio where David has shot most of his clients in a studio environment. We'll also be going off-site (near the studio) for some outdoor natural light training as well.
